@mostaurelius that and the fact that the bridge operators had done nothing to secure the supports of the bridge against such an event.
The 1964 Forth Road Bridge 馃彺鬆仹鬆仮鬆伋鬆仯鬆伌鬆伩 was fitted with massive concrete caissons about 30 years ago to protect against just such a tragedy.
