ProPublica has found multiple cases of women with underlying health conditions who died when they couldn’t access abortions.
Tierra Walker, a 37-year-old mother, was told by doctors there was no emergency before preeclampsia killed her.

I’m just a lowly EMT - not a doctor- and even I know that preeclampsia can lead to eclampsia which can lead to, as we say, seizure, coma, death.
This is basic medical training that’s being, apparently, thrown out the window.
@ProPublica I still struggle with blood pressure issues that started during my second pregnancy, 20 years ago, so I really felt this story
our culture has got to learn to take better care of mothers
